Talented and prolific

While British Columbia has long been home to a number of talented and prolific local animation companies, the province’s reputation as a world centre for digital animation production has solidified in recent years with international companies such as Pixar and Sony Imageworks establishing production studios in BC. Among the many advantages of choosing BC as a home base are the province’s world-class infrastructure, depth of creative talent, film friendly environment and expertise in animation and digital media.

Note: BC Film + Media administers the domestic and foreign tax credit programs, including the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) tax credit, on behalf of the Government of British Columbia. Since introduction in 1998, the tax credit programs have supported over $14 billion CAD in production spending in BC. In addition, BC Film + Media has continued to work with international companies looking to invest and establish a production presence in the province.
