Film and television production activity is an important economic, and cultural, contributor to the provincial economy. The following chart shows production activity in BC over the past decade.

The primary driver of this activity is the provincial film and television tax credit programs administered on behalf of the provincial government by BC Film + Media. The following charts describe the contributions to production made under the tax credit programs for the year ending March 31, 2011.

Both Film Incentive BC, for eligible Canadian productions, and the Production Services Tax Credit, for Canadian or international productions, are labour based refundable tax credits. More information on both of these programs can be found on the FIBC and PSTC pages.
